$100 Grand for 100,000

Last Sunday, during my travels, I purchased a candy bar at a local gas station. Nothing major, just a candy bar.

Well, by the end of the day, that candy bar factored in a milestone.

Let me explain.

The candy bar was a $100 Grand bar, which was once known as the $100,000 bar. And it also had one of the most – ahem – alluring commercials at the time.

Yeah. Wow.

Okay. Focus, Miller, you’ve got a blog post to write. 😀

I’ve owned my 2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier (“Lightning’s Girl”) for the past three years. And I can say that of the five cars I’ve personally owned – the 1991 Pontiac 6000, followed by the 2005 Saturn Ion, followed by the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, followed by the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze – Lightning’s Girl has been a charm. Its PHEV gas and electric combination work flawlessly, and any issues I’ve had outside of routine upkeep and maintenance have been covered by Chevrolet’s PZED warranty.

Well, last Sunday, that candy bar and Lightning’s Girl intersected.

Here’s the thing. When someone reaches a mileage milestone in their car, they pay attention. When I reach a mileage milestone, I blog about it.

And last Sunday … I hit that milestone. The odometer on Lightning’s Girl reached 100,000 miles traveled.

Okay. Pull over, Miller. This is momentous.

I parked the car … pulled out the candy bar …

And took a photo.

Because, yeah, of course I did.

Nice.

So let’s see … I think my next goal might be 111,111 … or maybe 123,456…

I’ll have to see if there are appropriate foods to tie into those mileage milestones.

And commercials with some seriously sultry sirens in them.

Excuse me again. I’ll need a few minutes. 😀
