It’s that time of year again. One blog post for my best photos of 2025, one blog post for the best blog moments of 2025.
And let’s start with this one from January, where I planned and planned and planned for a photo capture of the sun as it peeks through the 42nd Street New York City architecture. Here’s how I planned the photo and the end results.
In February, I attended a well-packed “Town Hall” with our representative, Paul Tonko. Remember back when our elected politicians were concerned with the well-being of their constituents and not grand-standing for an Orange Goblin? That’s why I’m glad we have Paul Tonko representing our district and not some MAGA chud.
My 2017 Chevrolet Volt “Lightning’s Girl” passed 100,000 miles on the odometer in March. And of course … I had to blog about the experience.
I attended a world premiere movie and discussion panel in April – a documentary featuring Albany’s great rock party band, Blotto. Holy cow was this fun.
Although there were many wonderful May memories … the month began on a sad note, as one of my best friends in high school, Frieda Tillman, was called to glory.
I attended my 40th college reunion last June. 40 years removed from that time when Hamilton College finally realized they gave a diploma to little old me and they couldn’t take it back.
I achieved my first-ever “moon trail” shot in downtown Albany in July. It was one of those things where I wanted to see if it was possible. Spoiler alert – it’s possible.
In August, I actually changed a couple of air filters in my car. All by myself. With my two bare hands. And a socket wrench. And a lot of YouTube videos. But I did it.
Competition Season 2026 wasn’t as strong as I would have hoped … but the Big E in September did not disappoint. Two blue ribbons, including my first-ever blue for a latched hook rug.
It took several October trips … but I finally got the covered bridge and church shot in Arlington, Vermont. And yeah, this is going into Competition Season 2026. Do not fight me on this.
And in November … I snagged my “holy grail” of CPKC Holiday Train photographs. The shot on the Cohoes-Waterford Bridge, in magic-motion lenticular deliciousness.
That was 2025.
I’ll see you in 2026. With more adventures and more stories and more of everything.
Let’s do this together.
