Dynamic Shadowing at the Pharmacy

Another day, another trip to the local pharmacy to update my medications. It’s already been a miserable week; what with a local snowstorm knocking out power in my neighborhood; one of my diabetes medicines suddenly needing a new type of insurance approval; and a few other pounds of Earth dumped upon the back of my shoulders.

The last few days of 2025 were an absolute personal shitshow. Trust me, I was in no mood to be around anybody or see anyone.

And then, as I parked my car in the pharmacy parking lot … I saw it.

By a combinational quirk of dusk and lamplight … there it was.

The word PHARMACY.

Big deal? The word Pharmacy?

You’d say that, and I’d understand that. But the sign had one spotlight of illumination, a spotlight that created dynamic shadowing upon its raised letters.

And at that moment … after experiencing the most miserable 48 hours in recent memory …

I had to capture that signage and shadowing.

Hmm.

Let’s just save this somewhere and see if I like it after a few months.

If nothing, it will remind me that I’ve been through pain and heartache and turmoil …

But so have many others. So in that, I’m not alone.

Even though at the moment, I feel as if I am.
