So I’m taking care of my morning chores on Saturday, when I drive by my local American Legion hall – and see a plethora of bikers. Motorcyclists. The local chapter of the Empire State Punishers biker gang.
Apparently the Punishers were hosting a charity event for local veterans, and one could purchase raffle tickets and 50/50 chances. Ah, what the hell, I’ll try my luck.
“You should stick around,” one of them said to me, “the girls will be here.”
Not sure where this is going, but …
“They’re doing a bike wash for charity.”
Okay, now I understand where this is going. And I looked over at my car. I’m not saying it was filthy or muddy, but …
“Do they do cars?”
“They can,” was the response.
So I made an agreement with them. I would finish my chores, take care of my business, and if the car / bike wash was still going on when I came back, maybe Chuck Force One cold get a splash or two.
Okay, off to do chores. Laundry won’t wash itself.
I returned at about 12:30 p.m., and there was – yep – two bikini-clad biker chicks. Soap and water nearby.
“$20 for a wash,” one of the girls cooed to me.
Okay.
“Is it okay if we have to climb on your car hood to wash it?”
Yeah, you’re probably going to need to get those tiny spots on my window completely streak-free, sure …
Then the girls soaped up some sponges, turned on a couple of hoses, and went to work.

I doubt that photo will end up in Competition Season next year, but there’s always the cover of Easyriders …
Fifteen minutes later, the car wash was complete. A tip for the girls (which I know went to the veterans relief fund, of course it did), and I had a clean car. A few soap streaks here and there, but I donated to charity, and that’s more important.
Trust me, I’m a very broad-minded person when it comes to charitable endeavors. 😀
