The Pittsburgh Steelers are really amazing me in this offseason. Last night they picked up Jonnu Smith and Jalen Ramsey from the Miami Dolphins; they just signed DK Metcalf in the offseason, and somehow they still managed to convince Aaron Rodgers to join up for a one-year stint. Hell, I’m even hearing rumors that they’re…

Hey Bob Labriola … challenge accepted. :D
Anyone who has even a cursory knowledge of my existence knows that the only professional football team I will support with my dying breath are the Pittsburgh Steelers. I don’t bleed red, I bleed black and gold. The national anthem isn’t “The Star Spangled Banner,” it’s “Renegade.” And yes, I have plenty of Terrible Towels…

The biggest mistake the Pittsburgh Steelers ever did, in my not-so-humble long-time fan opinion, was not preparing for a proper successor to their longtime quarterback. And when they did put someone under center after that quarterback retired, it was a mish-mash of greatness and frustration. I mean, you start off with … Mitch Trubisky, where…

Let’s make something very, very clear. Just because you can throw a football, or catch a football, or run with a football, does not mean that you are or are not a person of quality. The Pittsburgh Steelers had a quarterback for twenty years; and although he guided the Steelers to three Super Bowls and…

The Pittsburgh Steelers – actually, let me rephrase that – the 2025 Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers – currently sport a 10-3 record and are on their way to a postseason berth. A win against the Philadelphia Eagles today will guarantee the Black and Gold a playoff spot, and will also give plenty of impetus…

As a longtime Pittsburgh Steelers fan, I’ve grown to appreciate many of their legendary players. From the current lineup, I appreciate both their top running backs, Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. I’ve cherished the super-sacking combo of T.J. Watt, Cameron Heyward and Alex Highsmith. And Chris Boswell is one of the best field goal kickers…

I could have written today’s blog post about the vile swill that happened at New York City’s Madison Square Garden yesterday. I could have written about the vulgar and reprehensible jokes and insults against Hispanics and against people of color and against (fill in the blank). Other people can write about such things. I want…

As a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, I’ve followed the Black and Gold through many seasons of ups and downs. And there are teams the Steelers play for whom I have great disdain. New England, for one. Denver brings up a bad memory of the only decent touchdown pass Tim Tebow ever threw in his life. Jacksonville…

I am a true fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, going all the way back to the Immaculate Reception game of the 1970’s. I’ve followed them through eight Super Bowl games and six championships; I’ve cheered at the highs and grumbled at the lows. I’ve called out the good days and I’ve made my point clear…

Let me start off by saying that I’ve been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for as long as I’ve been alive. My support goes all the way back to the days of th Immaculate Reception, through four Super Bowls in the 1970’s, two more Super Bowls a decade ago, James Harrison running a 100-yard Pick 6…
