When I say I’m going “shooting,” it does mean with a camera…

Last weekend, I posted on Facebook that no matter what the weather was, rain or shine, I would go out shooting.  Now “shooting” for me does mean with a camera.  It does not mean that I’m shooting with a rifle or a shotgun or a slingshot or a bow and arrow.

Now back in the day, when I stored my Nikon D70 in a foam-insulated metal suitcase, I joked about calling my D70 “The Weapon.”  That joke stopped quickly when I took it with me on a trip to Chicago, and almost called it “The Weapon” as the suitcase was going through airport security.

“Shooting” as a double meaning, however, has not been lost on The Camera Store, a Calgary-based photography center.  They created this fantastic commercial, essentially showing what it would be like if wars were fought with cameras instead of with bullets.  The commercial, “The Battle at F-Stop Ridge,” features everything from a Nikon D3 to a Hassleblad to a Polaroid One Stop camera, all in battle as if one was recreating the advance on Pork Chop Hill.

Don’t take my word for it, though… watch the video and be amazed!

As far as I’m concerned, this is absolutely epic.  Really fun stuff.
