Here’s the problem. I have several K-Chuck Radio blog posts that are in various stages of completion. You know, find ten YouTube music clips and combine them all into one blog post.
Sometimes these posts take a while to write – you have to find YouTube clips that are entertaining and are part of the musical genre or tribute. Unfortunately, sometimes these blog posts sit around in my “draft pile” for months. MONTHS, I tells ya. And I gotta clean house.
So, for better or for worse, I’m just going to put them all here in one blog post, and I hope you enjoy them.
THE DEMOTRONS
Beg, Borrow and Steal
The original version of this song was by a group called the Rare Breed. Cameo Parkway records released this version by the Demotrons; then the Rare Breed moved to Cameo-Parkway Records and became the Ohio Express. Yes, the “Yummy, Yummy, Yummy” Ohio Express.
SHE TRINITY
He Fought The Law
Do you want to hear the Bobby Fuller Four / Clash classic as performed by a girl group, with a gender change to the lyrics? No? Don’t click on this YouTube clip, then…
THE SEEKERS
The Carnival Is Over
Before the Bee Gees and the Easybeats did it, the Seekers busted out of Australia and become world-famous chart-toppers. “Georgy Girl.” “I’ll Never Find Another You.” And this one. You may need to have a couple of boxes of tissues nearby. This is definitely an armor-plated heart track.
WE FIVE
You Were On My Mind
This would have been part of a K-Chuck Radio that collected 1960’s artists in 1960’s live performances – or at least “live lip synched performances.”
THE 5th DIMENSION
Stoned Soul Picnic
Yeah, this one, too. Gotta love the 5th Dimension. And if you don’t love the 5th Dimension, get the hell away from me.
BLOTTO
I Quit
Perfect. This was actually the music video that was paired with Blotto’s first Canadian 45 release.
THE PLATTERS
I Love You 1,000 Times
Rest in peace, Herb Reed. He was the last remaining member of the original “classic” Platters lineup. The lead singer in this video clip, Sonny Turner, is the last remaining member of the Platters who has performed on at least one Top 40 hit; this song and “With This Ring” were the last Platters songs to ever grace pop music radio.
RICHARD AND THE YOUNG LIONS
Open Up Your Door
This was a #1 song in dozens of cities… unfortunately, it wasn’t #1 in those cities AT THE SAME TIME. That’s why lots of people remember this song by this one-hit wonder group… but you don’t hear the song on Top 40 radio any more.
FERRANTE AND TEICHER
Exodus
Ferrante and Teicher were two pianists who created several musical soundtracks in the 1960’s and 1970’s, including the theme to the film Exodus. They were also proponents of what’s known as “prepared piano,” where the pianist inserts sticks or paper or other foreign objects int the piano keys, as to create a unique and previously unheard sound or timbre.
ERROLL GARNER
Misty
Do not argue with me. Erroll Garner’s “Misty” is a special and emotive piece, and despite the thousands of remakes this song has endured over the years… few can stand up to the beauty and love of the song as performed by the creator’s hands.
Okay, that clears out at least four blog posts… now I have room in the work area to craft some more!
Hey kids, here’s a collection of unrelated video clips just so I can say I’ve never missed a day of writing a blog post. Love, Chuck.

D357, he could have written something like “I’m taking a day off” so he could say he hasn’t missed a day – at least this way we get something to listen to!

Apparently you missed that post because it’s been done. It was actually kinda cool…for Chuck.

I had forgotten about that second one…that was good, too. Remember when you used to put some effort into your posts?
