Albany Center Gallery’s Northeast Home Show – with two Chuck artworks!!

Two years ago, one of my Dream Window constructs, Dream Window 5: The Thirst Quencher, appeared as part of the Albany Center Gallery’s Northeast Home Show art show at the Times Union Center.

After not submitting anything in 2014 – I really didn’t think I had anything hang-worthy that year – I submitted three pictures for the 2015 event; more information on the show can be found at this blog link.

One of my entries, Jesus Saves, was not selected for the show.

However, two other pictures WERE selected … happy dance … and they are:

STAR TRAILS OF BROWN TRACT POND

Brown Tract Pond star trail, New York
Star Trails of Brown Tract Pond. Nikon Df camera, Nikkor 55mm f/1.2 lens, 700 pictures combined with startrails.de software. Photo by Chuck Miller.

When I think about this picture… what I went through to capture the image… and what it meant to come back with a photo that’s received plenty of love … it just feels so good that the picture was accepted into the Northeast Home Show art exhibition.

And then I got the news that THIS picture also received some love.

 RE-LIGHTING L-KEN’S

Re-Lighting L-Ken’s. Nikon Df camera, Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 lens, six images photographed with various filters, merged in cinegraph. Photo by Chuck Miller.

Yep, my dancing L-Ken’s sign made the cut!!  Of the three lenticular prints I made last year – Fagbug and Vaudeville, Come to Hoffman’s Playland and this one – Re-Lighting L-Ken’s is the only one to win a ribbon (honorable mention at Altamont), and now it’s available for someone to claim as their own.  Nice!

And in case you’re wondering, yes if you walk past the picture the neon signage will change colors and figuratively “dance” right before your eyes.

I’m dropping these pictures off this weekend at the Northeast Home Show, and I really hope that you have a chance to come out and see the show – not just my works, but also the works of nearly two dozen talented painters, photographers, sculptors and artisans.  You will enjoy.  I promise.

NOTE: Although the event is sponsored by the Times Union, at no time did my association as a blogger with the Times Union influence any selection or non-selection of my artworks for the show.
