According to this link, the United States National Architecture Preservation Society has awarded Albany’s Central Warehouse storage facility one of its top honors. The building, which at one time was a cold storage and refrigeration complex, has been designated a “National Preservation Award” winner by the Society.
“Our members are extremely pleased by the preservation work achieved by those in charge of the Central Warehouse building,” remarked USNAPS president Connie Morgan, who wrote that the Society is now moving away from offering preservation awards to churches, bridges and buildings of historic significance. “The facility looks as if it could be used tomorrow. It is an amazing addition to the Albany, New York skyline, and blends in quite well with the existing architecture.”

I don’t even have to finish reading this to know it’s an April Fool’s joke Chuck. That bldg. is such an eyesore to this community and city. Thanks for ‘fooling’ us.

haha – wasn’t even sure what building the central warehouse is – had to look it up – having just been in the building to drop some stuff off at the USCRI _ was a bit skeptical of this designation – clicked on your links to research further and was thrilled to be rick-rolled! got me!!!!

April Fool’s!! Am I the first? The city should initiate a Kickstarter or Gofundme or something to raise the funds to demolish that eyesore once and for all. Or to turn it into an indoor water park affiliated with the new Playland park down there.
