Week 11 of the Graney’s Stout Spring Trivia League

Last night’s trivia game was a bummer in many ways.  And I couldn’t be the only person who got bummed out.

I could call last night’s trivia exercise, “Right answer, wrong question.”

Let me explain.

One of the categories was on World Leaders – identify the leader from a picture, get the points.  I correctly identified the first two – Angela Merkel of Germany and Justin Trudeau of Canada – then the third image came up.

It was the face of an elderly, smiling man with white hair.

I had an idea, and wrote down Malcolm Turnbull of Australia.

Nope … the picture was of the leader of Ireland.

Two questions later, another smiling, elderly man came into view.

Forget it, it’s a ten point question, I’m not taking any chances.  Burn the skip.

It was Malcolm Turnbull of Australia in the photo.  Damn it.

It was that kind of night; even the final question, which involved baby pictures, forced me to bet everything – and wipe out when I couldn’t identify the baby picture as that of Rob Lowe.  Cruds.

But two teams did get the answer right – including Nacho Punch, who moved into second place overall with their correct guess.

So what does this all mean?

Next week’s finals – in which the top two teams claim big bucks – has their starting scores.  They’re listed below, and are based on winning first, second and third place each week.

So here’s the new point totals after eleven weeks of the game.

Week 11 of the Graney’s Stout Spring Trivia League  Starter Points for Final Game
Dan 2017: The Next Generation 17
Nacho Punch 15

Good luck to all.  Next week’s game should be a gem.

And please, lord, no more freakin’ baby picture questions.  Grr…
