So this is a different avenue for me. Instead of printing and bringing my entries to the Big E and having them judged right then and there, I now must submit my photography entries – limit of two pictures – online. With limited space in the New England Center this year, all entrants are now required to submit their entries electronically, and the ones chosen will THEN be printed and brought to the New England Center.
I submitted my two entries for consideration on July 13. On Friday the 13th. Yeah, I’m a superstitious sonnova, ain’t I?
The two artworks I submitted were …
WASHINGTON COUNTY, 2:30 A.M.

I put this in the black and white category. Look, for all I went through to get this image, did you think I was just going to let it sit until next year? Silly you…
For the color category, I chose…
THE MAHARI STREAM

Now I should mention that I am allowed three entries into the competition, with only two limited to photographs. So the third entry will be …
EASTERN STATES FARMERS’ EXCHANGE

Yes, I’m entering my burlap stitching project into the Big E, my first-ever non-photography entry into that show. After careful consultation with the Fair’s organizers, I’m entering this unit in Department 5-Needlework, with Section F-Painted Canvas. Hope for hope!
Now although I’m definitely submitting the burlap artwork to Springfield, the pictures will be another matter entirely. Due to space limitations, the Big E is now requiring a pre-submission for photos, and only those who pass the pre-submission can be physically entered in the Big E. So let’s hope for the best!
This is the post I have been waiting for. At least we should hear back in no more than 5 days if our photos made it or not. I like both of those photos a lot. Good luck to you.
