So six postcards arrived in my mailbox Saturday evening. Three from the photo discipline, three from arts and crafts.
Let’s check the arts and crafts section first, shall we?
The first card I checked was my Saratoga Vichy Table, a piece of furniture that was crafted from two Saratoga Vichy crates.
And the piece was …
Sweet! It made the event!
Okay, now how about its companion piece, the Saratoga Vichy Crate Art Project?
I flipped the card over … and the Saratoga Vichy Crate Art Project was …
So we are two for two. Now let’s hope that’s not the only acceptances.
Did my GLF Quality stitching job make the cut this year?
And the answer is …
Fantastic! So my three arts andcrafts entries made the cut, they’ll be on display at the Harriet May Mills Art Center on the Fairgrounds.
But now there’s my other entries – the photographs.
Remember, I’ve been shut out in the photo category for hte past two years, and three years out of the last four.
First chard I check is No School Today, Brah.
I flip the card over and …
Damn it. Damn it damn it damn it.
Next card up … maybe there’s some love for the Infrared Horizon 787 picture. Yes? Maybe?
The card says …
Son of a bitch. This is what, the third, fourth infrared photo I’ve entered in Syracuse and they’ve been bounced? Memo to self. No more infrared photos until I get better at shooting them, because obviously I’m failing here.
Here’s another card, this one for The Mahari Stream.
And the postcard says …
God damn it.
I’ve gone zero for three consecutive years. That “Drive of Shame” is getting more and more painful every year. The #Syracurse strikes again.
Or does it?
Here’s the thing … I’m missing three postcards.
The postcards for American Dreamtime: Solarcan 368, Ladies Make Their Own Entrances, and Washington County: 2:30 a.m. aren’t in the mailbox.
This is not good. Not at all.
Because now I have absolutely no idea if I’m picking up three pictures – or maybe all six – when I partake in the Drive of Shame on Monday.
And if I didn’t already feel like a pile of crap before …
Now I’m feeling worse. Ugh.
