K-Chuck Radio: The final KISS tour … maybe … possibly…

So last night, KISS performed on the TV show America’s Got Talent.  They had this song for the judges, a track about how Detroit was a Rock City … I think they might have gotten buzzed by Simon Cowell, but I’m not sure… maybe they advance to the next round, they definitely have the theatrics down … 😀

Yes, the grand masters of rock and roll are scheduled for one final world tour.  Dates unknown.  Length of time on tour unknown.  But it should be fun.  I’ve never been to a KISS concert that WASN’T fun.

Point of disclosure – I’ve been to two KISS concerts, they both played in Albany and they had the full original lineup of Paul Stanley, Gene simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.  The first was part of their original lineup reunion tour, and the next was a few years later during their “Psycho Circus” LP support tour.  And I would say there were an even number of Star-Child and Demon fans in the audience, based on the face paint fans wore on those nights (although I swear I saw a Vinnie Vincent fan in there one time, wasn’t completely sure, but the ankh-face-paint was familiar).

A KISS concert is a full-on theatrical experience.  Lights, pyrotechnics, videos, crowd interaction, the works.  Now you know they’re going to tour with all their catalog’s big hits… including …

and …

and…

And of course …

And maybe they’ll break out the true rock classics that don’t get as much airplay on the radio, but will still shake your speakers at un-recommended volumes…

And..

And possibly…

Of course, if I was really being a dork about thinks, I know that they would NEVER dare play these tracks in a farewell concert – tracks that would make the KISS Army form a mutiny – but maybe they’ll surprise me.

Or their foray into disco…

And maybe if they play something from the “solo album” period, when all four KISS members released solo albums at the same time, they could dust off the Ace Frehley hit one more time…

As you can tell, I’m not asking for much from a KISS reunion concert.  Just the hits, some rarities, and a classic or seven.

And if there is justice in this world and God in the heavens … they NEED to end one of their final cocnert’s seven or eight encores with this track.

And yeah, if one of the “End of the Road” shows took place in Albany … yeah this time I might actually paint my face for the show.  Gotta think about this for a few moments… Am I more of a Star Child or a Demon?

Actually, I think I’m more of a Space Ace.

Does that shock you?
