My first fall foliage shot of 2018

Sometimes the shot you want comes up at the most unexpected moment.

And the only thing you can do is get it and hope it comes out well.

Case in point.  Last Saturday, I was helping with some gardening chores – yes, I can handle gardening so long as it’s in someone else’s garden – and, during the gardening event, I spotted a small tuft of leaves that were poking out of a tree branch.

Oh I can’t let this get by me.

I pulled out my BlackBerry KEYone camera phone like Paladin from Have Gun – Will Travel pulling out his sidearm.

Snap.

For me, this is truly the first sign of autumn.  At some point in the next week or so, I’ll venture into the Adirondacks and get a better shot or seventeen of the fall foliage upstate.  Or maybe this year I’ll try another location – I’ve heard the foliage off Vrooman’s Nose in Schoharie County is quite breathtaking, for example…

Sometimes it’s the little things that make you feel good all day.

This is one of those little things.
