The SEAT Center in Schenectady – the Social Enterprise and Training Center – works with more than 300 young people throughout the Capital District, young men and women who want to rebuild their lives through educational services, workforce training, leadership development, and community service in their home neighborhoods. The SEAT Center knows that the key to a brighter future is connection, education, and employment.
And as part of that goal, the SEAT Center has a “Bites and Brews” fundraiser scheduled for Friday, October 4 at Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady. In addition to food and beers from the local restaurants and breweries, and live music – there will also be silent auctions of goods and services provided by local merchants.
With that in mind … this would be a good chance to acquire a Chuck Miller artwork at one of these silent auctions. I’ve donated two of my framed art pieces to the event, and hopefully they will find new homes.
The donations include –
THE MAHARI STREAM
This photo of flowing water near Mount Rainier in Washington State is framed at 16×20 and would look awesome in your home or office. The winning bid could be yours.
ROSES AND VICHY
My trippy, lenticular “magic motion” photo of three roses in an old Saratoga mineral water bottle, is framed at 13×15 and will definitely catch people’s attention. Don’t you think it would look swank on your office wall? I think it would. 😀
Plus, if you bid on these items, you’re also helping the SEAT Center achieve its goals of helping those who would rater take a way out than a handout. It’s the whole principle of teaching a man to fish rather than just giving him the trout and being done with it. Skills help pay the bills. And every other positive work mantra that actually gets stuff done.
The SEAT Center’s “3rd Annual Bites & Brews” is on Friday, October 4 at Rivers Casino and Resort. This is an amazing event and you do NOT want to miss it. And your help and support will go a long way to helping the community become a much better place. I mean it.
