Updates on the Best Cleaners project

In a previous blog post, I mentioned how I was not able to take my clothing to the laundromat – broken ankle precludes me from driving to the wash ‘n fold.

So instead, I signed up for Best Cleaners’ laundry service.

Here’s how it worked for me.

The laundry company dropped off a big green canvas bag on my front doorstep.  I filled it with as many clothes as were necessary, then put the stuffed bag back on the porch a few days later for pickup.

The clothes were claimed – and a fresh canvas bag was left on my step.

A few days later, I received my original clothes back.

All the shirts were washed and folded in neat little packs.

All the pants were washed and folded nicely.

All my socks were washed and matched.

And at that moment, I realized …

I should have used this service years ago.

Think about this for a moment.  I was driving my laundry to the laundromat and either paying for it to be washed, or sitting there for two hours and doing it myself.  That’s two hours of productivity that could be used for something else.  And if I drove somewhere and paid someone to do it, then I’m spending money on gasoline and travel and all that.

So even when I get back to full mobility …

I’m going to keep Best Cleaners as my laundry service for the foreseeable future.

In other words, sometimes a bachelor can be a bachelor … but in other times, it’s okay to let a trusted party take care of a bachelor’s needs.
