Thanks to COVID-19, so many things are out of my life for the moment.
But surprisingly, there’s one thing that has returned.
Competitive team trivia.
I shall explain.
Kevin Baker and the Trivia Nights Live team have put together an online version of their popular trivia game, and teams from all over America can play the game. They can either play as single-player teams (like I do), or they can play as multi-player teams. It’s currently free and games happen three times per week.
Do you want to play this online trivia game? Sure you do.
Here’s how to play.
First, set up your trivia team at http://www.trivtrak.com.
After you’ve set up your team, you should go to the TrivTrak’s “Trivia Nights Live Virtual Venue” to place your team in the next game.
Then, go to the Trivia Nights Live page on Facebook for game dates and times. There will be a Webex link to the upcoming game – you’ll receive your questions and provide your answers from the Webex platform. Should work with both Mac and PC configurations.
I’ve played the game for the past three sessions and it’s been fun. Questions are tough but fair, and right now the winning team gets bragging rights, although there may be tangible prizes later as the game progresses.
As far as I’m concerned, this is one of the best things happening right now. When we’re all cooped up in our homes and keeping our social distance apart from everyone, this is a tiny glimmer of light in this COVID-19 darkness. I encourage you to sign up for this game and play when you’re able.
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1st (this is not an April Fool’s Day joke), with an 8:00 p.m. Eastern time start.
I hope I see you there.
And I hope you have lots of fun with this.
