Can I let you in on a culinary secret? Most off-the-shelf grocery products will have a recipe or two on the package label. Such was the case when I purchased a can of Dinty Moore Beef Stew.
And since the recipe was – I’m going to say edible – I’m sharing it with you.
Ingredients:
- One can Dinty Moore beef stew
- One package of refrigerated mashed potatoes (24 oz)
- Kosher salt (every meal needs Kosher salt)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Dump beef stew into a glass baking dish. Pour mashed potatoes over the beef stew. Spread out the mashed potatoes all over the top like you’re frosting a birthday cake.
Put the Kosher salt back in the cupboard.
Bake for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.
Take out and eat. Refrigerate leftovers. Remember, leftovers taste better the second time around.
Reheat leftovers on a microwave safe plate for about 4 to 5 minutes, depending on taste. Yum.
Yeah, who knew there were such things available on packaging? Options that allowed you to dress up your meal? Go figure. 😀
Instead of the mashed potatoes, open a tube of pillsbury biscuits (regular not grands) place them on the top of the stew and bake according to package directions. Another variation for you.
