The following is a playlist for the broadcast of the Nightowl Radio Show, a one-hour college radio show on station WHCL-FM. The show can be streamed tonight at 7:00 p.m. Eastern at whcl.org.
Tonight I took a bunch of familiar rock and pop songs, and re-processed them as “Out of Phase Stereo” editions. In “Out of Phase Stereo,” one of the stereo tracks is inverted. This causes sound that’s normally centered in the track to disappear, creating weird, alternate versions that definitely deserve a listen.
What does Out of Phase Stereo sound like? Here’s the first track on tonight’s playlist.
