I’ve been having a lot of fun with this kaleidoscope lens – you know, shooting through it and getting some waycool “energy” photos out of it …

So as you can imagine, the more I play with this, the more I want to do more with it. More, more, more. It’s almost the Andrea True Connection of photo toys for me.
Anyway … yesterday I went to Washington Park to photograph the tulips, like every other person in Albany does at this time of year. You go early, so that you can get the tulips without having to battle some family getting in your shot and feeling weird about asking them to move out of the frame. Or in my case, I just shut my mouth and wait for them to move and hope some other family doesn’t move in the way at the last second.
Anyhow … I took a few shots of the tulips – and used the kaleidoscope toy to create another “atomic energy” ball.
And this one was the best of the lot. I believe so.

That’s even better than the Nipper shot above it. I’ve got that sweet yellow kaleidoscopic sphere and a shot of bright yellow tulips along with it.
That’s it, I’m calling an audible. Atomic Nipper is OUT of Competition Season 2023 … Atomic Tulips replaced it. This is now the front-runner in “Atomic” imagery.
That’s how I like it.
