Sunday morning. I’m looking out the window. Fluffy snowflakes falling in the neighborhood.
Okay. Let’s get some snowflake macro shots.
I’ve been trying to capture the perfect snowflake macro shot for ages. It usually involves focus-stacking several images together and hoping I can bring the image in crisply.
And I have to be careful. Snowflakes are delicate. You can’t move them once they land on something. You can’t even breathe on them or they’ll melt in an instant.
So here was my best shot. I captured this snowflake on a plank of wood.

Well, that’s a warm-up. No pun intended.
I’m not 100% thrilled with it … but it’s at least a start. And I haven’t broken out the cameras in a few weeks, so it felt good to get the gear back up and running.
This shot wouldn’t really be Competition Season worthy … but as I said … it’s at least a start.
Nice post ✍️
