Every two years, Kolari Vision – the good people who converted one of my Nikon Df cameras into an infrared-dedicated shooter – offers an infrared photography contest, where winners receive Kolari Vision gift cards and plenty of publicity.
And since the contest is open to all types of infrared photography, not just products promoted or sold by Kolari Vision, I pulled eight images out of my archive and sent them in. A couple of them may be future entries for Competition Season 2025, while some entries have had plenty of love in the past.

Yep, there’s my award-winner We Serve Wayward Strangers, featuring all that nasty overgrowth against the Toll Gate Ice Cream parlor. And the Saratoga, Corinth & Hudson Railroad crossing the Sacandaga River.
And there’s the horse racing photo that proves my Kolari Vision-modified Nikon Df is capable of capturing high-speed action. Mix in a couple of nature shots and a junked car in the wilderness … yeah, that’s a good six images right there.
Trust me, shooting in infrared is lots of fun, and I have some great plans for future alternate spectral shots going forward. Because, yeah, of course I do. I’m just that kind of dude.
Let’s see how things turn out. 😀
I’ve always LOVED the Toll Gate shot

The old cars and the gazebo shot almost look not infrared; exaggerated fall colour effect. Over-all a fine selection of potential winners!
