When we last left A Taste of Italy …

A Taste of Italy is a local pizza restaurant that, of late, has served more “foot in mouth” than pepperoni. As I previously posted, their racist comments that were left about the accidental drowning of a 7-year-old autistic boy’s drowning – a post that excoriated the boy’s Islam faith – drew scorn and protests around the Capital District. And rightly so. Bigotry and racism and homophobia should have no place in our neighborhood.

Well … it looks like A Taste of Italy may be using the “ghost kitchen” pandemic tactic to stay afloat.

Recently, someone posted about a new restaurant that was available through DoorDash orders. I mean, who wouldn’t want to try the new “On Demand Pizza” or “Charlie’s Calzones”?

Interestingly, though … pickups for these new eateries have a very similar address.

So, these new restaurants – which have the same address as A Taste of Italy – and have the same recipes as A Taste of Italy – and, remarkably, have the same telephone number for orders as A Taste of Italy – could they be A Taste of Italy under a pseudonym, trying to keep business afloat until their social media drama dissipates?

Trust me. I’m not interested in their excuses or their drama. There are so many other Italian restaurants, pizzerias and eateries in the area that deserve my business. I’m not spending a dime for a company whose pizza comes with toppings of bigotry and Islamophobia.

And no amount of mysterious ghost kitchen switcheroos will convince me otherwise.
