I live two miles away from the Town of Cohoes. At one point in time, Cohoes was a bustling factory town, where the nearby waterfall powered several mills and factories. The mills are now apartments and lofts, but the waterfall is still there.
I’ve photographed the waterfall many times, but usually the water flow is more of a trickle than a roar.
Wow, I wrote that blog post 14 years ago? How time flies …
Last Wednesday, the Capital District suffered a major rainstorm. Several nearby communities suffered from floods and washouts.
Which gave me an idea.
Yesterday morning, I drove the two miles to Cohoes Falls. And that normal trickle off the falls edge was now a rage.
I need to get this image.
Switched my camera phone to movie mode, and caught this.
Damn, look at the power of that cascade. Quiet time on a Thursday morning.
A true minute of zen for me.
And I’ll take it.
Right on!
