Background.
Earlier this year, I entered three of my black and white images into Art Square New York’s “Call for Art,” which, if any were accepted, would mean they would receive a digital appearance as part of Art Square’s digital gallery show. And sure enough, my Herbie Jr :v) Was Here picture received acceptance.
A couple of weeks ago, I tried my luck again – this time entering three colorful legacy pieces into Art Square New York’s “Infinite Palette” call for art.
Last Wednesday, I received the happy news that at least one of my images made the cut and will be part of the upcoming gallery show. YAY!
But which one?
I had to wait until Saturday to get the news. Because that was the date the show opened.
And after much waiting and anticipating …
Look what’s on the digital gallery walls!
Yep, it’s The Zipless Chuck, my splitfilm experiment that involved two rolls of 35mm film and a zipper. Sweet!
Well, let me peek around this exhibit a bit more, and …
Um … you guys …
Did I say “acceptance” or “acceptances”? Because I think I got two entries in this show.
And unless someone else photographed the Jericho Drive-In with redscale film after a rainstorm …
That someone might be me.
Two acceptances! Fantastic!
Okay. Deep breath. Now we have two photos in this show, and three overall in the past two exhibitions with this gallery.
You know what? I’m going to keep an eye on any future “calls for art” from this facility.
Because now I’m intrigued.
Seriously intrigued.
Intrigued enough to consider future calls with this gallery.
Yeah, I can deal with this for sure. 😀
