Donald Trump is a cheapskate. Plain and simple. Well, he’s about fifteen other things – a rapist, a con man, a racist, for starters – but most know him as someone who would find any way to underpay his contractors, while at the same time overcharging anyone who needs HIS buildings or services.
Case in point. According to The Raw Story, Trump’s recent call-up of the National Guard to patrol Washington, D.C. – for some spurious threat of violence and crime in a city where violence and crime have already plummeted – he is deploying these soldiers on 29-day recurring deployments.
Why only 29 days? And why recurring from that point in time?
It’s because Donald Trump is a cheapskate and a swindler.
See, if the National Guard is deployed for longer than 30 days, the soldiers receive full housing payments and health coverage. By limiting the deployment to 29 days, Trump forces soldiers to pay for their own lodgings – AND they won’t receive health insurance. And before the deployment reaches its 30th day, Trump cancels the deployment – waits one day – then re-starts the deployment again.
And it’s not just the D.C. deployment. Trump has used this loophole for other National Guard deployments in which the soldiers serve for longer than 30 days, yet are grouped into recurring sub-monthly terms.
Un fucking believable.
Remember this the next time Trump demands a $92 million birthday parade for his own self-gratification. Remember this when he claims to support the troops.
This is bullshit with a capital BULL. Just another way to screw over good men and women who are out there to serve and to protect.
