Best of our TU Community Bloggers, April 16, 2015: Ten for Thursday

Not everybody writes a blog post every day.  Some people take time off.  Some people take lots of time off.  Some people take so much time off, that they end up in Jango Davis’ “Zombie Blogs” feature in the comment section of my blog.

And then… when you least expect it… they return.  And when you read their posts, you realize how much you missed what they had to say and how much you enjoy reading their words once again.  People are allowed to take a break.  I’m just glad that after they’ve recharged their batteries, they’re generating away on new blog content.  And that’s a plus.

Today’s treasure trove of blog tropes from the TU’s community blogging team includes:

  1. Dan Lyons’ “Classic Cars” blog, “Rear View Mirror: 1968 Mercury Park Lane.”  (Read this first; it explains the concept of wooden-paneled station wagons.)
  2. Megan Willis’ “The Davenport Chronicles,” “What I did on my winter vacation, by Megan Willis.
  3. Ken Screven’s blog, “It has to stop.
  4. Rev. Alan Rudnick’s blog, “5 phrases that frustrate Millennials in church.”
  5. Stephanie Snyder’s “A Professor’s Wife” blog, “Sad to See you go, RSG Colonie.
  6. Renate Hartman in the “Transgender Talk” blog, “‘Hearts in the right place’ don’t matter in the fight against discrimination, actions matter.
  7. David Kalish’s “The Ruminator” blog, “An oddly placed ad on my Times Union blog post.
  8. Jeannine Trimboli’s “Real [FIT] Life” blog, “This is a boring fitness blog.
  9. Megan Elbrecht in the “Beer Nut” blog, “Megan’s Local Adventures in Beer Touring.
  10. Roger Green’s “Information Without the Bun” blog, “A Swiftian letter from Ari Wolfe to Albany education administrators.

Always good to have some of the TU’s bloggers come back and write again.  As far as I’m concerned, it’s not “Hey, what took you so long?”

It’s actually “We missed you.”
