Best of our Times Union Independent Blogs, March 23 2017: Ten for Thursday

Hey everybody.  I know you’re busy looking through the Times Union’s “Best of the Capital Region” survey / advertising program today, and you’re probably wondering who ended up with the “Best Local Blogger” category.  Well, this year there wasn’t a selectable choice in that category, due to the same Times Union staff bloggers finishing 1-2 in that category every single year.  So instead of opening up the survey for a category for TU community and independent bloggers, they just discontinued the category completely from the survey. But if the TU did actually consider a category for “Best TU Independent / Community Blogger,” there’d be a bunch of great blogs worth reading and selecting.  You know this is true. That’s why, every Thursday, I round up the best ones and share them on my blog for you.  And this week’s crop includes:

Roger Green’s “Information Without the Bun” blog, “

The ‘right to be forgotten’ bill should be forgotten.

(Read this first.)

Katie Lembo in the college blog, “

Everyday is a win.

“Rob Hoffman’s “Hoffman Files” blog, “

So ‘victim envy’ is now a thing?

“Scott Jarzombek’s “On and Off the Shelves” blog, “

Never be afraid of failure.

    “Heather Fazio’s blog, “

LoganStrong: A fundraiser worthy of attendance.

    “Jaye McBride’s blog, “

March Madness! Jaye’s death pool edition.

    “Sonja Stark’s “PilotGirl” blog, “

The hidden worlds of Weedon Island Preserve.

“Rabbi Matt Cutler’s “Congregation Gates of Heaven” blog, “

Batman vs. Messiah: My liberal perspectives.

“Michael Wayne in the “Holistic Health” blog, “

Pi a la Mode and the Hidden Structures of the Heart.

“Lawrence White’s “Field of View” blog, “

Wall Street Journal: ‘Most Americans may conclude he’s a fake President.’

Start with these ten blogs by ten great Times Union independent and community bloggers, and then go from there.  And next year, let’s hope the TU restores the “best blogger” category to their survey, and at least set up a specific one for best independent non-staff blogger.

That would be appreciated.
