Help me raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region

Normally I don’t try to use this blog for fundraising purposes.  However, this time I would like to ask for your help.

This coming Thursday, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region is hosting their annual “Big Brains Trivia Tournament,” a fundraiser to help the organization and its goals of providing education, assistance, mentoring and safety to young men and women throughout our area.  There will be two separate games played this year; one set up at Saratoga Springs (at Parting Glass) and the other in Guilderland (the Recovery Room), and both games will be played simultaneously.

The overall winning trivia team will receive a prize; but you know as well as I do that the “winning team” is actually the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.  This is a very important charity for me, I believe in their message and in their efforts.   People who volunteer to be mentors in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program do so to help make the lives of at-risk kids better.  They do it out of the kindness of their hearts, and of the belief that we all need to make this world a brighter place for everybody.

And this year, I want to compete in the trivia tournament.   To do so, I need your help in this.

In the past, I’ve participated in charity trivia competitions, where for me it’s not about winning, it’s about helping charities reach their goals.  So I’ve set up a link page where, if you want to, you may make a donation for my Street Academy Trivia Team to compete in this tournament.  Simply click on that hyperlink and donate whatever you wish, no matter how small (every cent counts).

And then next Thursday, I hope to compete with the rest of the Capital District’s charity-minded trivia brains in this fun little fundraiser.

And no matter if I come in first place or forty-first place … the big winner, as I’ve said before, is the Capital District’s at-risk youth.

Do I have reward goals on this fundraiser?  Yeah.  I have a simple one.  Help me raise the money and I’ll be a happy man.  That’s always a good thing.

How about it, people?  What say you?

Donate whatever you want or whatever you can.  You can donate $10, you can donate $5.  You can donate $18 (ח).  You can donate $36 (חח).  You could donate $9.99 (save a penny, ha ha).  Whatever you want to give or whatever you are able to share.  You can announce your donation or you may make an anonymous contribution, whatever works for you.

All I ask is that if you can donate … please do so.

Thanks in advance.

And let’s help these kids out, can we?
