Albany Patroons take Jamestown 110-98, playoffs in sight

It’s as simple as the message on the Patroons’ locker room greaseboard.

WIN AND YOU ARE IN

LOSE AND YOU ARE OUT

PLAY 2 WIN

The message was – if the Albany Patroons could take a victory Sunday afternoon over the Jamestown Jackals, the Patroons would reach the rapidly approaching TBL playoffs.

Simple enough.  But last Saturday, this was the message, and the Patroons came up on the short end of a double-overtime loss to those same Jackals.

This time, though … the Patroons played like world-beaters.

Shardell Millinghaus pounded out a double-double of 21 points and 11 assists, while Anthony Moe gave out a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds.  With scoring like that, the Patroons were able to surpass Jamestown and win.

Friday, the Raleigh Firebirds are on their way to the Armory.  Most likely, the Patroons and hte Firebirds will face each other in the best-of-three playoffs, so this may either be a regular season finale or Game 1 of the playoffs, depending on how things progress.

And although the Times Union continues to rag on what they feel are the Patroons’ deficiencies … and to not discuss anything regarding the win and what the players did to achieve that win … the Patroons are still playing basketball and are still making waves.

They ain’t done yet.

And the best way to keep this momentum going is to win.  Win each game, survive and advance.

That’s all you can do.

Let’s keep this going.

Because so long as the Patroons keep playing …

Chuck remains happy.

Not only because we’re going to the playoffs again…

But because we’re going to do some serious damage in the playoffs.

Maybe even take the championship.

So let’s do this.

Maybe you didn’t hear me.

LET’S DO THIS!!!!!
