So here’s a reason why you should learn about the Teskey Brothers …

My old bud from my college radio days, Jim McCaslin, forwarded me a website about an Australian rock band named the Teskey Brothers.

Okay … interested …

The Teskey Brothers were formed by brothers Sam and Josh Teskey in 2008, and they are a blues-rock group with several Oz hits.  They just recently won three statues at the 2019 ARIA music awards for their album Run Home Slow.  Here’s their first single from that album, “Hold Me.”

Okay … I can get behind this …

Let’s see what else the Teskey Brothers have put together here.

You can definitely hear the influences of blue-eyed soul in the Teskey Brothers, their initial single “Pain and Misery” sounds like it was recorded in an after-hours Stax-Volt studio session.

Okay … liking more …

What’s their latest single?  Oh yeah, this bouncy track called “So Caught Up,” which again would get everybody in a Mississippi juke joint on their feet and dancing.  No joke.

Okay … I’m really close.  But the Teskey Brothers need to show me something that would totally seal the deal.

So did I tell you that they won three ARIA awards – the Australian version of the Grammy Awards – for their blues-rock album Run Home Slow?  I thought I had.

Then I went to their website and saw that they performed the song “Rain” at the ARIA awards.

No, not THAT “Rain,” Dragon fans …

But it’s a damn good song in and of itself.

So according to their website, The Teskey Brothers will have some shows in the United States in 2020, including a performance in October at New York’s Webster Hall.

Hmm …

Might want to clear my calendar for a trip to NYC that day.  Just sayin’ is all …

So what do you readers think?  Do the Teskey Brothers sound good to you?
