I’m really, really sick of people who steal the money of others and suggest that it’s God’s will. ”Of course, the Lord works in strange and mysterious ways,” they argue.
But the hypocrisy of this story just makes me want to puke.
See, in the past, I’ve written about bitcoin swindle scams. The whole idea is that if you bet in this specific cryptocurrency, you’ll become richer than Croesus in no time flat. But the only people who get rich from these operations are the swindlers who fleece people with spurious claims of instant digital wealth.
Sometimes these cryptocurrency scams are tied to popular media. Such as the Squid Game cryptocurrency crime of 2021.
And then of course, there was the cryptocurrency that was tied to that “Fuck Joe Biden” / “Let’s Go Brandon” minced oath – a cryptocurrency that was barely operational as more than just a “pump and dump” crime.
And now we come to today’s crypto swindle. And it was perpetuated by – of all things – a man of the cloth.
According to this news link, Pastor Eli Regalardo of Denver, Colorado, created a cryptocurrency called INDXcoin. Then he convinced his parishoners to invest in this INDXcoin. The pastor and his wife raised over $3 million in INDXcoin. Which they used for charitable endeavors and helping hand to those less fortunate – oh, bullshit. They used that $3 million dollars to renovate their home. Oh, and they also bought a Range Rover. And expensive purses. And snowmobiling trips.
And the current value of INDXcoin? What did the investors get from this project?
They got sheared like sheep in the winter. Ain’t no way around it.
And Pastor Eli Regalardo released a video statement about the whole situation, where he suggested that the Lord speak through him for all this. Here’s a link to the video.
He starts out by admitting that the Colorado Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating INDXcoin as a worthless entity, noting that there is no “exit strategy” for donors to get their money back. ”We launched an exchange, the exchange technology failed, things went downhill, and from that point forward, we’ve just been waiting on the Lord literally for a miracle.”
He then admits in the video that he and his wife withdrew $1.3 million from INDXcoin for their own personal use. Wow. ”Half a million dollars went to the IRS, and a few hundred thousand dollars went to a home remodel that the Lord told us to do.”
Wait, what?? The Lord told you to renovate your house with church-based cryptocurrency profits? Unless this clown thinks that Bob Vila is God or something … well, in home repair he IS God, but that’s another story in and of itself.
He THEN admits that they were involved in a previous cryptocurrency scam – which was, I kid you not, suggested to him by the Almighty. That’s right, brothers and sisters, the Lord spoke to me of blockchains and exchanges. That must have been in the gospel according to Dogecoin. Yeesh.
The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies is currently investigating this mess. They claim that the Regalardos targeted their churchmembers, claiming that investing in INDXcoin would provide them with wealth and prosperity. I guess nobody determined who “them” referred to.
The fact is – this is just another scam run by cryptocurrency conjobbers and NFT navel-gazers. And by using their own churchgoers as part of the theft … it’s just frightening. It’s like those digital Donald Trump trading cards that are nothing more than a cash grab by Trump himself. It’s like those NFT’s of photos of sports figures that are barely more than a digital self-brag.
I swear … the more this shit keeps circulating, the more I’m tempted to issue my personal cryptocoin Chuckycoin for all my blog readers. That’s right, you can purchase my artworks, my fiction books, all of the great stuff I’ve produced over the past 30 years. All you need to do is buy a Chuckycoin. They’re available for a small investment of only $5,000 US. And a Chuckycoin can be used for anything purchaseable on this website.
But yeah … in the end, all this charlatan did was take money from hardworking men and women and line his pockets with it.
Oh, and Pastor Regalardo … you MIGHT want to crack open the New Testament and check out the Gospel According to Matthew, Chapter 21, Verses 12-13. But if you’re afraid to open the Bible lest the papers burn your treacherous fingers … let me help you out.
Thief.
Why does this surprise anyone? Religions are confidence schemes. Always have been, always will be.
