So I’m buying Disney+ … God help me …
I do this more than I should. I hold out on getting involved with any new streaming video service, unless there’s something it has that I won’t find anywhere else. Case in point – I signed up for the HBO NOW streaming service because I didn’t want to have to pay for additional bundles from…
Read MoreBeany and Cecil – the popular cartoon that was lost in time
I will forgive you if you’ve never heard of Beany and Cecil. I totally understand. Who today would remember a boy and his talking sea serpent? Even though, at one point in time, it was one of the most popular TV shows in the early medium. So first, let’s go back to 1949. Animator Bob…

Are you familiar with the term “gothic horror”? It’s a term used to describe literature and films which possess a religious, creepy overtone. You know – your average season of American Horror Story. Well, I may have found one of the creepiest graphic horror shows out there, and maybe – just maybe – it will…

Let’s get something straight right now. Watchmen is the greatest graphic novel of all time, I’ll fight you if you tell me otherwise. Okay … I tried another episode of Emergence, the new ABC sci-fi procedural. And … well … What we have so far is a police chief who finds a young girl at the site of a wrecked plane, and takes her in and protects her from the big bad organization that wants to recapture her. …

So last night, I watched the very hyped new ABC mystery thriller sci-fi drama Emergence. Or maybe it was a Lost spinoff. Or maybe it was a Stranger Things spinoff. Or maybe it was a Firefly spinoff. I’m not sure yet. So here’s what I saw. A police chief, Jo Ellis (Alison Tolman) receive news…

Television variety shows were all the rage in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Each show would feature a singer or group as the show’s host, there would be a sketch comedy routine of some sort, some guest performances by an up and coming artist (and sometimes that artist would duet with the host), and then some…
