Holy crap, it’s cold outside.

Welcome to winter, Capital District.

But I have the best tactic for braving the cold.  And that is the ability to read blog posts by many of my blogging friends, both the community bloggers from the Times Union and those from my personal blogroll.

So get yourself a cup of warm beverage – hot chocolate, hot coffee, hot bourbon – and let’s start with…

  1. David Kalish’s “The Ruminator” blog, “Giving a second chance to our homeless veterans.” (Read this first.)
  2. Jaye McBride’s blog, “The year of the groper.
  3. Lale Davidson’s “Out of the Ordinary” blog, “Why no one wants to call it an ‘assault rifle.’
  4. Rob Hoffman’s “Hoffman Files” blog, “Here’s Johnny!
  5. Roger Green’s “Information Without the Bun” blog, “Fats Domino: Ain’t That a Shame.
  6. Rabbi Matt Cutler’s Congregation Gates of Heaven blog, “Standing on the shoulders of greats: Tribute to Ernie and Gloria.
  7. Lawrence White’s “Field of View” blog, “Saratoga Development?

And now let’s take a peek at the blogroll for some other treasures.

  1. Rob Moses’ photography blog, “Abandoned Cancun.”
  2. Carl Johnson’s “Hoxsie!” blog, “The Ghost Signs of R.B. Wing.
  3. J. Eric Smith’s blog, “Autumn of Evidence.
  4. Amy Biancolli’s “Figuring Shit Out” blog, “on guns and prayers.
  5. Rob Madeo’s “Keyboard Krumbs” blog, “Witless.
  6. Daniel Berman’s “FUSSYlittleBLOG,” “Judging Grilled Cheeses.
  7. Roger Green’s “Ramblin’ with Roger” blog, “Songs of war and the protest of same.”

Have a great weekend everybody, and stay warm!
