Four years ago, Donald Trump declared that trans men and women were not allowed to serve in the military. And although your Twitter account was shut down, your old Tweets are still visible in the blog post I wrote four years ago.
I’m just glad we have a real President now, someone who can take clean up all of your profane fuck-ups, Trump.
And that one that still sits raw in my gullet was your banning trans men and women from serving in our Armed Forces. I don’t even want to know what your big beef was about that. Maybe you’re one of those homophobes who still thinks that if a gay man walks up to you and stares at you for more than five seconds, you’ll suddenly turn gay? Or are you one of those people who would proudly wear a T-shirt saying “I support gay marriage as long as both chicks are smoking hot”?
Vulture.
So anyway, back to our real President, Joe Biden. He already named Gen. Lloyd Austin as our nation’s Secretary of Defense, and Gen. Austin started right out of the gate with a statement that is long overdue for those who currently suffer from the trauma of sexual assault in the military, which happens much more frequently than anyone would want to admit.
Sexual abuse in the military is rampant, it is unchecked, and it needs to stop. And those who perpetrate these atrocities should be stripped of rank and court-martialed.
And then came this little tasty bit of news. Something that just might happen today.
I’ll tell you this much. I’d rather have these men and women protecting my country and my freedom, instead of these fakes and fools who claim to be soldiers, but are lying through their teeth.
And if you don’t understand what I’m saying, then take a listen to DeMarcus Gilliard. I said listen.
In other words, being in the military and serving our country is a great responsibility and a great honor. Don’t pretend to be military when you never were, and don’t denigrate those who do want to serve our country just because you don’t understand what a trans person means or does.
Here, I’ll make it easy for you. A trans person is a PERSON. They’re not sub-human, they’re not deviants, they’re not perverts, and they’re not misanthropes.
And thank GOD that President Biden and his cabinet can see that, and that President Biden and his appointees can undo, with the stroke of a ballpoint, the racist and misogynistic and narrow-minded horse shit that Donald Trump placed on our military men and women.
That’s what a Commander in Chief does.
The right-wing press is using hashtags such #BidenDishonorsWomen. It’s crap.

I have no use for Tom Cotton, but it might be more accurate to say that he exaggerated his service experience. It’s pretty clear that Cotton was an infantry officer and deployed to war zones. As such, he certainly knows the difference between being a Ranger and having attended Ranger school.
I don’t understand why he would distort his qualifications. His military service is far more significant than what most Americans can claim, and even within the military, serving in the infantry is highly respectable.
But I’ll leave you with this old joke:
How do you know when a politician is lying? His lips are moving.
