Several years ago, I spent Monday nights playing competitive team trivia at Revolution Hall in Troy, and Marc Pallozzi was the co-host of those highly competitive events. A few months later, he joined me on my own Street Academy trivia team, and he was on the squad when Street Academy won the second of our Trivia Bowl championships.
Marc later moved to the legal field, serving with dignity and dedication at the Iannello Anderson law firm. And yesterday, he announced that he was entering the race to be one of six members of the Rensselaer County Legislature, having already garnered the support of the Democratic and Working Family parties.
From Marc’s Facebook page:
I am running for a seat on the Rensselaer County Legislature to represent the City of Troy. I have been endorsed by the Democratic Party, Working Families Party, and my four-year-old daughter who thinks I’m running for “leg-slayer” and only supports me if I buy her three new toys.
I digress.
For the past few years I have been dedicating more and more time to causes that benefit children in the City. But I want to do more. Offering myself up for County Legislator feels like the next best extension to do that on a larger scale.
So I’m in. There will be a primary election in June, and a general election in November. If you live in the City of Troy, I would love your support.

But even if you do not support me, that’s ok. This is both the beauty or curse of local politics depending on how you feel. Win or lose, I’m still going to volunteer at your events, donate money to your causes, coach your kids soccer team, and grab a beer with you Saturday nights if my wife lets me go out.
If you are interested, I have created a page for my campaign. (https://www.facebook.com/Pallozzi-for-Rensselaer-County-Legislature-108847687964655). The website will be up shortly. I am not going to hold my friends hostage with political posts on my personal page. Like any campaign, two big components are volunteers and money. Both are unavoidable. Both are necessary. I’m only one person, I cannot reach everyone I would like to by myself.
If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, send me a message. If you are unable to volunteer but would like to make a contribution, here is the link.
That’s it! Thanks for reading. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go buy 3 toys to keep one of my earliest supporters happy.
So yeah, I’m good with this. And I hope Marc Pallozzi gets enough votes to earn a seat on the Rensselaer County Legislature.
Hey, he supported me when it came to Trivia Bowl. I certainly owe him the favor to support him on his journey, right?
