I’ve actually completed a significant portion of my largest-ever latched hook rug, a representation of a Vermont covered bridge with autumn foliage in the distance.
When I created the original pattern for this project, I hadn’t initially factored the rug’s completed size. I now estimate that it most likely be completed by Competition Season 2026, so I’m pacing myself towards that goal.
So … let’s see where we were two weeks ago on this rug, and where we are now.
This is two weeks ago.

And yeah, you see that little void in the upper right corner?
I finally cleared that void up. Looky looky.

The rug’s left panel is complete. Yay!
Now to work on the right panel. And as before, I start hooking on the bottom and working my way up.

Here’s the first glimpse of the rug’s right panel. And you can see what looks like the road’s curbstones traveling from lower right to upper left. This is progress. Big time progress.
But I can’t stop now. I must continue on this.
Because if I don’t get this done at some point … I’ll be looking at entering this at Competition Season 2027 … or later.
“It already looks beautiful – I can’t wait to see the finished work. Well done, just keep it up!
