So … we are at the one-year mark of the creation of this latch hook rug. One year ago, I took the original picture of the Woodstock Covered Bridge in Vermont that formed the basis of this artwork. A simple covered bridge that is part of the town’s infrastructure.
And yeah, I thought this would be an easy, fulfilling, quick project.
Which is why I’m blogging about this being a one-year anniversary.
I will say, though, that I’ve made considerable progress on this in the past year, to the point where I actually think it’s possible to complete this by the end of 2025. Or at least into spring 2026.
Which would give me a rug for competition at the NYS Fair in 2026, and then I can re-submit it for Altamont in 2027 and the Big E in 2027. Works for me, right? 😀
First, a recap. Here’s the left panel of what will be a three-panel rug; I finished this panel earlier this spring.

And this is the right panel – at least as of two weeks ago, the last time I blogged about this topic.

So after a few weeks of hooking while the television is blasting pro football and pro wrestling and reruns of Hell’s Kitchen on YouTube …
The right panel now looks like this.

Woah. That’s a lot of progress there.
And once this right panel is complete, it’s time for the middle panel, and somehow combine all three panels into one rug. And then bind up the sides. And in the end … a possibly competition-worthy latch hook rug.
Let’s keep going. Don’t stop now.
