Hey folks … guest what.
I’ve reached a milestone on this major latch hook rug project.
I finished the right panel.
Let me explain.
This is the biggest latch hook rug I’ve ever crafted; so big, in fact, that it takes three panels to complete.
This is the left panel, I finished that a few months ago.

And this is the right panel, as of a couple of weeks ago. You can still see some voids.

But after a lot of hard work and a few “hunker down” moments …
We’re now up to this point.

This is incredible. You can see the fall foliage in the trees behind the white fence. You can also see the sidewalks and shading in the road.
Okay. Now I have to perform an inspection. I flipped the rug over and carefully went over every single yarn pull. And there’s a lot of them.
And lo and behold – I found this.

See it right there? I missed one. Or the yarn may have fallen out of its spot, I don’t know. A quick search through my remaining yarn bags, and I found a strand that approximately matches what should be there. One yank on the latch hook later, and the panel is repaired.
Yeah, you probably wouldn’t have noticed it on the front, but I’m sure there’s an eagle-eyed judge with microscopic vision and a desire to root out any variables.
And just so you have an idea of what I’m working with … here’s both panels, side by side.

I now have to create a third center panel and link that panel to the two side panels. And make it look seamless.
Yeah, I think I can do this.
So let’s make it happen.
700 yarns across, 1900 yarns deep, for an 11,900 center panel.
But it’s getting there.
Check back with me in a few weeks or so. 😀
