So I added a new blog to the blogroll today. It’s called DeadSplinter.
Yes, it’s a portmanteau of Deadspin and Splinter, two really great blogs – I used to comment on their portals for years. Unfortunately, both blogs were destroyed by some chud named Jim Spanfeller. Splinter, a political blog, was culled instantly, and Deadspin was left to wither in the breeze until all the great writers from that portal packed their pens and pencils and walked away. He basically did to Deadspin and Splinter what Jeffrey Loria did to the should-have-been-2019 World Series champion Montreal Expos.
Some of the writers from Deadspin and Splinter formed a new independent blog portal, Deadsplinter, and I joined them in their new adventure – not just in comments, but also as a writer. I know what those writers went through in terms of overreaching overlords, it’s happened to me. So I’m more than happy to not only add them to my blogroll, but to also feature their work on my Saturday blog recap.
