I’ve met Jeffrey Seguritan a few times, originally crossing paths with him when he and I played on different trivia teams during the World Team Trivia championships in Atlantic City. And in 2019, he was part of a group that joined my trivia team, as the Street Academy Trivia Team claimed its unrivaled fourth Summer Bowl championship.
Jeffrey’s had a dream – to appear on a national game show, whether it’s Jeopardy! or Who Wants to Be a Millionaire or some other trivia mind challenge. So much so, in fact, that any time he learned a new trivia nugget, he wrote it down in a series of journals. When each page of that journal was filled, he would post the journal page online. This was his trivia training, so to speak.
This Sunday, Jeffrey’s dream comes true.
I shall repost his Facebook message for all of you.
I want to begin sharing with y’all that I will be appearing on network TV this Sunday, June 13 at 9pm EDT on the next Season 2 episode of ABC’s The Chase (a fast-paced, high-intensity trivia show imported from UK). It was a whirlwind experience especially during the very cautious pandemic environment (and many safeguards were in place), and I hope you get a chance to enjoy the viewing . Just getting this high-profile opportunity truly feels like a dream that I’m still expecting to wake up from
And if that wasn’t enough … he posted pictures of his appearance on The Chase on his Facebook profile. Now, of course, the rules are that you don’t post the results (seeing as the show airs this Sunday), but a couple of publicity photos can’t hurt, right?
Tell me this isn’t the coolest thing ever.
Long-time readers of my blog will know that I’ve tried for years to get on a game show, and have come up short each try. But that does not mean that I can’t support Jeffrey in his goals and dreams. I seriously hope he took that game show for every cent they had, and won some big fat cred in the process.
This is huge. Big freakin’ huge. And much props to Jeffrey on his quest.
Yeah, this is cool. Much props to you, my man. Good luck.
Show them who the smartest brain in the building really is.
The Chase airs this Sunday night on ABC, locally on WTEN (10).
Dude’s got his work cut out for him. He has to deal with one of three Jeopardy! champions or Mark “The Beast” Labbett, who was on the first US Chase (GSN), and is being brought back this summer.
I wish him well.
